Playtest Phase IV - Optional Rules, Equipment & Treasury + Tax Charge Date

Playtest phase IV has been distributed! Please check your Email and/or digital downloads over there to find it! The previous one can be found the same way if you weren't aware it went out. For feedback, the link is included in the document.
Tax + Tariff Charges
Also, as a general update, as per our last series of updates, we're going to be collecting taxes/tariff costs at the start of January. This will also be when we lock orders. We picked this date after hearing back from various backers regarding when they'd like to be charged/how they'd like us to handle these charges, and this seems to be where most people fall. We know this isn't ideal for 100% of people, but we've gone with the majority of feedback on the subject.
We're keeping an eye on the US's tariff policies, but despite ongoing supreme court cases nothing is changing immediately - we promise that if tariff charges will be partially (or totally) refunded as needed when we charge for shipping if the tariff rates change by then, but we want to pull tax charges out of the way so we can properly report them in 2026, and tariff charges are built into that charging mechanic on BackerKit.
Quick Update

As of tonight, the book's treasury is done, the backgrounds are done, and the feats are done. Very little of the mechanic/gameplay-based content needs to be worked on now, so we're finally able to get back to delivering full playtest documents. We'll be organizing the next playtest doc and sending it out within the week unless something unforeseeable happens.
Gameplay content isn't the only thing left to make, however, as there is a lot of lore/worldbuilding content left to make for the book, as well as continuing with art assets/design. Stay tuned for more updates (as I head to bed and pass out!)
Playtest Delay for Treasury

We apologize for the delay in providing playtest materials. It is, however, for a good reason (we feel!): it's because the content for the next phase of playtest material, the treasury, has been expanded upon, and we decided to add a good deal of additional items (specifically artifacts) to it, so it's taking a bit more design time than expected. We hope you can be patient with us as we get this material to you, and we also plan to release the bestiary content soon in two different waves, seeing as that the bestiary is one image asset away from being completed!
Immediate Tariff Correction

This isn't so much embarrassing as a relief, but due to news that literally came out today (hours before having made our previous post), the tariffs on the books and dice in their relevant categories are actually going to be reduced considerably from their former 80% rate - we are going to commit to biting off a considerable chunk of the tariff cost, but and are going to update the backerkit cards to reflect only 25%, which is a chunk of what is still in play (down from the 40% chunk we would have had to charge). We'll be keeping an eye on ongoing negotiations between China and the US, as well as the decisions of the Supreme Court. However, please note that we won't be constantly updating the BackerKit totals, as we want to avoid confusion. Instead, we plan to make any final updates to the totals closer to the day.
It is our hope that these tariffs are reduced to their pre-2024 state, but we'll need to wait and see. It goes without saying that if there is a change in the costs between when we charge for them and when they are actually due, we'll refund the difference. These tariffs are not in any sense our money, and we don't intend to treat them as such.
We have also noticed a comment or two expressing confusion about some of these not making sense due to the products coming from Canada, as that's where we're located. To clarify, we, as a company, are Canadian, but the products in question are manufactured overseas and shipped here. Where we as a company are isn't relevant to tariff charges, only where the products are coming from and going to.
